I am dedicated to providing the help you need with your computer and related technology.

My core skill is mastering and explaining technology. During my twenty-seven years working at IBM, I designed web sites, wrote software manuals, marketed complex software, managed technical communications departments, and provided customer support.

Previously, I founded and ran a retail bookstore, managed a weekly newspaper, and taught technical writing seminars for major corporations. These experiences give me a unique perspective for understanding your computer concerns and coaching you in new skills.

I am the co-author of Enterprise Computing with Objects (Prentice-Hall, 1998) as well as 15 articles about software and computer systems, and numerous scholarly and general-purpose articles. I hold a Ph.D. in English from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), where I taught for many years.

Computer Help with Ralph is a true cottage industry, operating out of my home in Cary, North Carolina, in close proximity to Research Triangle Park.
